All my life I have lived and grown with cats more then dogs. Having to grow up around felines you get hooked and I can't see having a home
without at least one cat. Although when I first moved away from home fresh out of high school, between college and finding roommates, when I finally got
settled I couldn't wait to get my first very own cat, just for me. Pooh was my first cat as an adult.
Male vs Female: Although I have both males and females both have been rather a challenge when learning that too many cats
can cause problems in the long run. Mixing females together I find isn't always the best thing to do, as I find they get jealous of each other a lot and
their marking habits often became impossible to break. Though Pooh had problems with a local bully tom cat dominating the neighborhood, started spraying
in the house feeling territorial regards to my other cats in the home... Sadly it all ended up a huge mess in the end. I did learn however that male cats
are easier to work with if you get them young, have them neutered immediately and trained. Only the two males are allowed to roam freely in the house. The
females have a cat sanctuary in my dance room where they have their own cat tree, food, water, heated indoor part of the house and spoiled.
Major Concerns: Although both cats and dogs all over the world suffer from abuse, neglect, too many go homeless or end
up in shelters that eventually require to putting unclaimed pets to sleep. Solution to the problem of over populated cats and dogs is that owners do the
right thing for their pets and get them neutered unless you are seriously breeding a specific breed. It is sad to see too many puppies and kittens end up
in shelters or out on the street homeless while others end up in abusive homes, tortured, and mistreated due to lack of human responsibilities. They depend
on us for love and care to make sure to do what is best and right for them and their future. I am proud to say, all of our animals but Simba, have been
neutered or spayed. Simba, he has a special condition related to his heart which is why he has not been neutered
Cat for Me? If you live in a small home or apartment, cats are a great choice for companion. They do not always require
as much exercise and maintained as dogs would need. Cats can be extremely charming and affectionate if you pamper them properly, even though it is nearly
impossible to prevent cats from owning you, they do give owners respect deserved on how they are treated
